George Brunnhoelzl III Ends NASCAR Whelen Mod Season on a High Note
Third-Generation Driver Finishes Fifth at Caraway
It’s a season that saw a lot of growth from George Brunnhoelzl III. It’s a season that saw him pick up his first career Southern Modified Tour win. It also saw him contend for the win at a number of race tracks including Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC in the SMT’s season finale.
After starting ninth Brunnhoelzl moved up and finished fifth to conclude the Southern Mod Tour’s season.
“It was a good top five,” said Brunnhoelzl. “We had to start further back then we would have liked to. We just rode early on, fell back and after that we started making our way to the front and ended up fifth. It’s good to end the season on a good note. We have had good cars all year, now we are just finishing. These runs show how good we can be. We have learned a lot and next year we will be even better.”
Brunnhoelzl finished the year seventh in points with six top-five finishes and seven of his 11 starts in the top 10. His highlight of the year was his win at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, Georgia.
