Brunnhoelzl Races To Top-Five Finish at Southern National Raceway Park
Solid Run Builds Momentum for the Big Race at Martinsville

At the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Race at Southern National Raceway Park (Kenly, NC) this past Saturday, George Brunnhoelzl, III had an uneventful race, but a solid top-five finish. After qualifying eighth, Brunnhoelzl made his way through the field to fifth-place, although the car wasn’t handling the way he would have liked.
“The race went pretty well, uneventful,” explained Brunnhoelzl.  “We messed up a little bit in qualifying, but we got up to fifth and that was pretty much all we had as far as the car is concerned. We started off the race a little too free and it never came around to us. All in all, we’ll take it (fifth place).  The car is in one piece and we will just gear up for Martinsville.”

Even though he didn’t acquire a win, Brunnhoelzl was satisfied with his race this weekend and is preparing for the upcoming NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Race at Martinsville Speedway (VA) on Saturday.

“I’m really excited about Martinsville. That’s pretty much the biggest race of the year for us and we look forward to it.  We’re trying to get everything ready to go. It’s a long distance race, so that’s fun; it gives you more time and it’s a pit stop race. All around it’s a lot of fun and a lot of excitement and everyone looks forward to running there.”
