Who is George Brunnhoelzl III? Not only just a third-generation racer from the Northeast, but one of the hottest commodities in all of motorsports.
George has over 50 wins under his belt, including five karting championships all the way to 2001 SMART Southern Modified Tour Rookie of the Year all the way to being a front-runner in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour.
George, aka “Georgie,” has been racing since the age of 12, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather. After four years of racing and five titles in open-wheel Champ Karts, Georgie advanced into the tough ranks of the NASCAR Modified division at the age of 16 at Riverhead Raceway in Riverhead, Long Island, New York.
He stunned the crowds with his exceptional talent behind the wheel of a 600-horsepower Modified at Riverhead. George was a front-runner week-in and week-out and captured Rookie of Year honors at one of the toughest tracks in the Northeast.
After completing high school, George relocated to Mooresville, NC, where he still currently resides, and began working for the family business, Brunnhoelzl Racing, Inc.
George began his second full season in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Southern Division in 2005. He competed in all 18 events and was able to secure eight top-ten starting positions. In addition he was able to bring home one top-ten and nine top-20 finishes.

He had a season-best fifth-place finish at Martinsville Speedway (VA) in the Made in America 300 and he also logged a total of seven top-10 finishes on his way to finishing eighth in the final standings.
2008 was a banner year for George as he won his first-career Whelen Southern Modified Tour race at Lanier National Speedway (GA). He also won a pole award for being the fastest southern division driver at Martinsville Speedway (VA). The season came together nicely as George finished seventh in points after six top-five finishes and seven top-10 finishes.
That success laid the groundwork for a championship season in 2009. George battled with fellow young gun Andy Seuss for the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour championship. Eventually, George walked away with the crown after being credited with four pole awards and five victories.
In 2010, George took his act onto the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, as the driver of the #46 Modified. He enjoyed many good runs, but a hard wreck at New Hampshire Motor Speedway put him on the injured reserve list for part of the season. Brunnhoelzl still managed to win a pole award at the tough and historic Riverhead Raceway (NY) and recorded top ten finishes at Stafford, Monadnock and Riverhead. To cap off the season, Brunnhoelzl recorded a podium finish of third in the North South Shootout at Concord Speedway (NC).
